Since 2012, the Writing in the Disciplines (WID) Project has aimed to help teachers from a variety of subject areas learn theory and develop practical strategies to improve active learning, critical thinking, and deeper learning in their classes.
Our goal is to empower teachers to implement innovative pedagogies in their own disciplines, with the understanding that writing is an important tool for learning. In addition, participants become resources for their colleagues by sharing their successful pedagogical strategies.
The WID fellows are happy to share their strategies and assignments with their colleagues. Feel free to browse this site and to use what you find here to implement writing in your own discipline.
